Choke shotgun markings. The chokes in an L.C. Smith run parrallel for 1" and then taper 1 9/16" to bore size of .729-.732 in 12 ga. Also your gun was made in 1908, and after 1913 the 0 grade became Ideal Grade. The markings on the barrels are probably the barrel makers mark as the 0 grade had London Steel barrels or Damascus steel, I think Chain Damascus.
