Remove the thermostat and check if the blower fan will stop. -If the blower fan is still running, this means there is something wrong with your blower fan. -If the blower fan stops, it's possible there might be something wrong with the terminal pins at the back of the ecobee thermostat and we will need a closer look ..., I just upgraded my Ecobee 3 thermostat to the latest Ecobee 5 and noticed this peculiar thing happening. Basically, with my current temperature setting on a Hold temperature (different from my regularly scheduled set point temperature) and I manually turn on the circulation fan, the thermostat overrides that Hold temperature and runs the thermostat based on the scheduled temperature instead.
