Free Princes are usually the result of losing command to a rival Prince, or exiles sent away as punishment for some kind of failure. They are much more intelligent and free-willed than normal Hive types., Katanas and polearms since katanas depend of dexterity and Hives got a buff on that, and Polearms are just nice weapons for them since they have a lot of range and are fast too. Whatever weapon they want. Weapons work based on stats, not what race is wielding it.
