Description. Hike along the ridges of the highest points in Alabama, including a stretch on the famous Pinhoti Trail. The Cave Creek Trail is a very comfortable, three-mile trail with some amazing views and relatively little elevation gain. At roughly two miles along the trail, you’ll come to a rocky overlook facing the south.

We left the trail head about 9:15am. It was 2.1mi and about 1000ft elevation from the nubbin creek trail head to the first camp site. It was a grueling hike up hill if you over packed your bag. We were able to unload our gear at the campsite after setting up our tent before taking off and hiking the loop. Area Status: Open.
