I would think a .357 Magnum revolver is generally better than a .44 Magnum revolver for combat situations, if only because being able to tag the target twice with a .357 round as opposed to once with a .44 round is more useful. Mind you, I have never been in a fire fight, but heavier rounds certainly take me longer to get back on target.
